FSSAI online registration in Ahmedabad| FSSAI is the Food Safety and Standards Authority is the initial Administrative Body in India. It lays down the entire criteria for the food business operators (FBO) depending upon the type or kind of business. Applying FSSAI license is mandatory before starting any food business. All the Restaurants, traders and manufacturers involved in food business must obtain a 14-digit license or registration number and it needs to be printed on food packages.

The FSSAI is the overall governing and regulating body of all Food Business Operators (or in short – FBOs).  The FSSAI, as mentioned, ensures food safety and controls the storage, production, distribution as well as the sales of food products. Apart from these functions, the FSSAI also has to ensure that the food products which are being produced/stored or distributed are free from impurities and adulteration.

Every food business operator involved in the manufacturing, processing, storage distribution and sale of food products must compulsorily obtain FSSAI Registration or License. FSSAI Registration is different from FSSAI License in the sense that depending on the size and nature of the business, FBO should obtain the necessary registration or license.

Central FSSAI License is given to the food business operator who is operating their business on a wide scale or big sale manufacturer or having a more than 20 crores turnover every year.
